Cory O. Rogers
Ph.D. Student - Joined Fall 2016 ECES 1B22 cory.rogers@colorado.edu Cory started his graduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder in the fall of 2016. He is studying Thermo Fluid Sciences. Cory is interested in the intersection of thermodynamics, renewable energies, and the current energy situation of the world. He is currently working on high-temperature combustion modeling of multi-components fuels. Cory is from the Orlando, FL area and enjoys outdoor activites, youth mentoring, and college football. |
Katie Cummins
Ph.D. Student - Joined Fall 2017 ECES 1B22 katherine.cummins@colorado.edu Katie started her graduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder in the Fall of 2017 after completing her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Portland. She is interested in thermal fluid systems, specifically combustion. For her research, she will focus on computational modeling of specific fuels at various stages in the combustion process. Katie is from Billings, Montana, and enjoys hiking, intramural sports, and traveling. |
Masters Students
Jatinder Sampathkumar
Masters Student - Joined Fall 2017 jatinder.sampathkumar@colorado.edu Jatinder began his masters’ at the University of Colorado Boulder in Fall 2017. He is majoring in mechanical engineering with a focus on design. Jatinder received his Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from BMS College of Engineering, India. Before enrolling in his master’s program he worked as a manufacturing engineer for an aircraft manufacturing firm. Jatinder enjoys being able to bring together elements of design, materials engineering and thermal sciences to evaluate combustion systems. He is currently working in the Labbe lab investigating new materials to be used in a novel microreactor design to study renewable fuel sources. Jatinder is from Bangalore, India and enjoys everything aviation and motorsport, apart from a passion for travel. |
Undergraduate Students
Geya Kairamkonda
Undergraduate Student - Joined Fall 2017 geya.kairamkonda@colorado.edu Geya is a junior pursuing her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in biomedical engineering. She loves learning, especially outside of the classroom, and has been involved with several research labs. Her primary interests are fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and biomechanics. Outside of school, Geya enjoys hiking, biking, and being a tea snob. |
